A DAY CAPACITY BUILDING TRAINING FOR WARD DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEES AND MANAGERS OF PRIMARY HEALTH CARE CENTRES IN KUJE AND GWAGWALADA

We held a one-day capacity building training for ward development committee members and managers of PHCs in Gwagwalada and Kuje area councils today; to strengthen their capacity on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence case management and access to efficient health care service delivery.

The 40 participants drawn from the 20 wards across the two area councils, were taken through the roles of PHCs and Ward Health Committees in promoting access to efficient health care service delivery and also the processes involved in managing SGBV cases that are brought to their facilities.

The participants also seized the opportunity to highlight some of the challenges they are currently facing in their respective facilities, to the Director of PHC at the FCT Primary Health Care Board for urgent intervention. Some of the challenges includes: insecurity, inadequate skilled health workers, failing infrastructure and inadequate funding.
