Earlier today, the OI project team of Abiodun Essiet Initiative for Girls held a one-day capacity building training for ward development committee members and managers of PHCs in Bwari and Abuja Municipal Area council, with the theme: " Strengthening the Capacity of PHCs and Ward Development Committees on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Case Management and Access to Efficient Health Care Service Delivery.
In her opening remark, Mrs. Abiodun Essiet, the founder of Abiodun Essiet Initiative for Girls, urged the participants to be professionals at all time when attending to patients, and survivors of sexual violence. She also reiterated that, as health service providers, they should maximize the resources at their disposal to give the service users the best possible experience.
The 40 participants cutting across the 22 wards in Abuja Municipal and Bwari area councils, were trained on the roles of PHCs and Ward Health Committees in promoting access to efficient health care service delivery and also management of SGBV cases.
