A landmark initiative of African Young Female Advisers Initiative and Abiodun Essiet Initiative for Girls is providing psychological, financial, legal and social support for young widows in Africa to use their voices and experiences to advocate for policy change in widowhood rights issues and cultural practices affecting young widows in Africa.
More Nigerian women, and indeed, Africa at large, are becoming victims of harmful widowhood practices, which makes them incapable, economically, to cater for their needs and that of their child/children.
One of the core objectives of Abiodun Essiet Initiative for Girls (AEIG), is the alleviation of Nigerian and African Women and girls economically, politically and socially.
Against this backdrop, AEIG partners with WALIBI Table Water, a social enterprise for Heal, Stand and Strive Centre - a centre created to support young widows in Nigeria.
